Have you ever found yourself in the following situation: you've bought a nice ship or sailboat to go sailing with your friends, or perhaps you don't own a ship and have decided to go sailing with friends who have just bought a new boat. You're having a wonderful afternoon cruising canals and lakes, and everything is going great, until you arrive at a jetty or harbor and find that bollards and cleats are missing from the jetty, or from the boat. You hear your friends saying it, but you have no idea what they actually mean.
Frogs
A frog is, of course, a frog, but in this context, a frog has another meaning. We're happy to explain. What exactly are bollards and cleats? Bollards and cleats are objects to which you can securely fasten a boat with a mooring line ( nylon rope ). Both bollards and cleats are attached to jetties in the harbor and to the boat itself, allowing you to securely fasten your boat from both sides.
In principle, bollards and cleats can be attached to both jetties and boats, although you'll more often find cleats on boats and more often on jetties. Now you know exactly what bollards and cleats are and the difference between them.
Bollards
The great thing is that we sell both bollards and cleats in our hardware webshop, so you can browse our website extensively, as we have a wide selection. There are also significant differences between bollards and cleats; bollards are somewhat sturdier and larger, while cleats are somewhat narrower and perhaps also more attractive in design, and are therefore more commonly installed on boats. Be sure to browse our various products and also read the descriptions on the pages we've written about bollards and cleats. Then you should definitely be able to find the right bollard or cleat for your boat.
