An endless ratchet strap (25 mm, 1.5 tons) is used, among other things, to secure heavy items in a truck or van. The walls of such a van are equipped with racks, behind which the ratchet straps are slid. The strap can then be tensioned with the ratchet, securely fastening the object to the van. Even on very rough roads or rough driving, such a strap will not slide around in the cargo area. This endless ratchet strap can withstand a maximum tensile force of 1500 kg.
Using a tension strap
Ratchet straps are available in many different shapes and sizes. They are made of polyester, a lightweight yet strong material that is highly resistant to water and dirt. These ratchet straps typically have a hook on one end and a ratchet on the other. The hook is attached to a rack on one side of an object. The strap is then placed around the object. Finally, the strap is attached to the rack at the other end of the object and tightened with the ratchet.
Why use an endless tension strap?
With the endless ratchet strap (25 mm, 1.5 tons), the ratchet is fixed to the strap on one end. The other end of the strap is looped behind the rack and around the object. The strap is thus completely wrapped around the object. Then, the end of the strap is threaded through the ratchet and tightened. This presses the object against the rack without exerting any force on the rack. Therefore, the rack does not need to be as heavy as when using a ratchet strap with a hook.
